The Future of EdTech

11.13.2018

Event Recap:

Another incredible JC Tech Meetup in the books! Last night, we had an awesome panel of local leaders who came out to discuss the future of edtech, and it was a very powerful conversation. Students, teachers, and technologists were in attendance, contributing to the conversation and asking some great questions regarding the implications of including more technology in the classroom and exposing children to tech tools at a young age.

Thanks so much to our panel who provided us all with their insights and a very educational experience:
Karl Haviland & Kristin Haviland of Koding Kurriculum
Michael Burghoffer of PicoTurbine International
Andrew Fernandez of Sawyer
MacAdam Smith of Content Creators Academy JC
Tasha Masconi of Central Jersey College Prep Charter School

And as always, a huge thanks to the crew over at AndCo for hosting another great Jersey City Tech Meetup!

Event Description:

We’re all students this November as we explore the future of EdTech! We’re teaming up with Koding Kurriculum, technologists and educators to discuss changes in education prompted by advances in technology, how these changes disrupt education in both positive and negative ways, and their implications on today’s youth.

What goes into the decisions that introduce new technology and applications into the classroom? Are classic subjects and teaching methods becoming obsolete – for better or worse? What can be done to better support the community and classrooms?

Come out on November 13th for a fun night of networking and learning about how we can positively leverage technology to shape the future as we know it!

Karl Haviland of Koding Kurriculum will be moderating a panel with some of EdTech’s local visionaries:
