We’re super excited to bring back some of our favorite women in Cannabiz to chat about how the Green Rush is unfolding in New Jersey! With Governer Murphy recently signing the legislation for recreational marijuana use in New Jersey, entrepreneurs and brands are ready to hit the ground running so they don’t get left behind in a cloud of smoke.

As always, with new laws and regulations comes new questions, and we are lining up a badass panel of women in the space to answer everything you need to know about the new legalization in NJ.

Cea Pender:

Meet Ceallaigh! She is all about being a massage therapist, movement specialist, yogini, herbalist, and aromatherapist who is trained in over 25 bodywork techniques. She has worked in the field of massage and wellness for over 2 DECADES (she got started early).

She has worked with various medical practitioners, physical therapists, professional athletic teams and Olympians. She has toured as the massage therapist with several well known musicians. 

She has created a system that custom tailors her client’s session for their specific bodywork goals and preferences, and trains each of her staff to think with a deductive and curious mind. To fit the need of each client, she tailors each session with manipulation, manual bodywork, stretching, cupping, and corrective exercise, all combined with bespoke, handmade cannabis products.

She has had the privilege of volunteering with non profit groups like the Hyacinth Foundation, and Life Rolls On. She is a founding board member of TEDxJerseyCity and Massage Without Borders. She currently sits as the State Chair for Community Service for the American Massage Therapy Association. She has taught as a professor at Cortiva Massage Institute in Hoboken, NJ as well as the Eastern International College in topics such as Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Sports Massage, and is a member of the international fascial research congress. 

She owns two wellness companies Salvation Wellness and Rx3. 

Chirali Patel:

Chirali is an attorney who has developed a unique public and private insight into the world of cannabis. She devoted the early years of her career to serving the public, previously working for the County of Passaic, the City of Hoboken, and the County of Bergen.  On a personal level, Chirali was on a mission to educate others about the medicinal benefits of cannabis. Chirali made friends in Colorado and New York and started immersing herself in the industry by January 2016 to learn the ropes. By August of 2019, Chirali submitted a vertical application to obtain a medical license in New Jersey to cultivate, manufacture, and dispense medical cannabis as the President of the company. Chirali combined her business and legal experience and created, Blaze Responsibly™️, to educate and empower the new generation of cannabis leaders. She currently practices class action litigation at NJ based firm Carella Byrne handling cases across the Nation. Chirali is an Executive Board Member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Cannabis Law Committee and Legislative Subcommittee and was the South Asian liaison for NJ CAN 2020, the successful “vote yes” campaign to legalize adult-use cannabis. 

Angela Colandrea:

Angela Colandrea is a mother & medical patient breaking the stigma for a successful lifestyle fueled by Cannabis. She has created a community to celebrate & welcome all those who support plant based mindset.

Kelly Wilkinson:

Kelly is a 24 year old New Jersey Medical Marijuana Patient. Being a patient the last three years she has also spent her time advocating for the NJMMP along side her partner, Angela. Kelly currently sits as the Director of Operations for HerbanCannaCo.

Rebecca Koy:

Hi I’m Rebecca! I am a 25 year old New Jersey medical marijuana patient. About two years ago, I decided to look into cannabis and the program, shortly after, my quality of life thrived. I connected with great like-minded individuals and found herbanlive. We bonded and Angela offered me a position as the operations manager with Herbancannaco. Not too long after Therobedstoner was created and stemmed towards advocating for plant medicine.

Chelsea Duffy:

Medical dispensary applicant & NJMMP patient, Chelsea Duffy, is the Co-Founder & CEO of Local Modiv, a canna co. certified woman owned business. Having taken part in the 2019 medical application round, Chelsea is well versed in that state’s licensing process and speaks from firsthand, female experience. Chelsea works closely with Jersey City’s council members and officials to safely and responsibly integrate cannabis locally. As of now, she’s preparing to apply for the coming recreational licensing round and hopes to operate one of Jersey City’s first WOMAN OWNED, small-business dispensaries. Did you know 30% of NJ licenses must be allocated to businesses owned by women, minorities or disabled veterans? Let’s talk about it and then….let’s get it.

Tara Misu:

Tara Misu is the CEO and founder of Blazin’ Bakery, New Jersey’s first legal edibles company since 2009, whose products have been sold in Spencer Gifts and over 1,000 shops nationally. She is the co-author of New Jersey’s 2019 Medical Marijuana Bill Jake Honig’s Law, NJ’s first cannabis legislation passed in nearly a decade. She sits on the board of the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association, is a highly sought after cannabis consultant and frequently speaks at national conferences on topics such as edibles, extraction, licensing, branding and policy. Tara hosts the podcast Trailblazin’ with Tara Misu interviewing her network of cannabis innovators and thought leaders. Before her time in cannabis Tara worked as a designer/branding specialist in New York and London, her resume includes Fortune 500 companies such as Google, Victoria’s Secret and the Hearst Corporation.
